Brooklyn-based electronic pop artist Sucreblooms has released the new single "Take Time," which is also the title track from the upcoming EP scheduled for release on November 1 via Grind Select. This track demonstrates Sucreblooms' skill in combining emotion and innovation through an intensely personal narrative and delicate production.
Sucreblooms is the brainchild of Erick Lee, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, and composer who previously fronted Modern Rivals. Despite Modern Rivals having a short-lived presence, they made a notable impact, sharing the stage with acts such as Ra Ra Riot and The Black Keys. Lee is now venturing into new territory under the Sucreblooms alias, exploring tender moments of life through a unique electro-pop lens.
"Take Time" is a poignant reflection on Lee's journey as a father. The track incorporates clips of his three-year-old daughter's voice and sounds manipulated through granular synthesis, serving as an exploration of guiding a child through emotions like frustration and anger. Its soothing, layered melodies weave a story of vulnerability and resilience, capturing both the joys and challenges of parenting.
Sucreblooms' sound offers a warm, immersive experience, inviting listeners to embrace the delicate balance of connection and independence. "Take Time" feels like a deeply personal letter from parent to child, resonating with anyone who has navigated the bittersweet journey of learning to let go.
With its intricate blend of sound and story, "Take Time" sets the stage for an EP that promises to leave a lasting impression.
